Wolves Suffer Major Blow in Kevin Danso Race as European Giants Make Shock Move!
The Kevin Danso transfer saga has taken another dramatic turn, with a new club entering the race to secure his signature before the deadline.
So far, Wolves’ only signing of the January window has been Emmanuel Agbadou, but Vitor Pereira remains eager to add RC Lens centre-back Kevin Danso to his squad. The 26-year-old has long been on the Old Gold’s radar, with previous attempts to sign him falling short—though this is the closest they have come.
Wolves have already had two bids rejected and now face competition from Premier League rivals Aston Villa and Ligue 1 side Rennes in the race for Danso’s signature.
### Wolves Push for Loan Move Amid Fresh Competition
According to L’Équipe, Wolves are working on a loan deal for Danso, as Lens appears more inclined to offload him temporarily rather than sell him to Rennes outright.
The French club reportedly sees the Premier League as the perfect stage to boost Danso’s market value ahead of the summer, making Wolves a preferred destination.
Discussions are ongoing over a potential deal that would see Wolves pay €5m up front, with an option to buy for €25m (£21m) in the summer. However, Lens is holding out for closer to £25m, meaning Fosun is locked in negotiations over a few million—a standoff that could prove decisive as the clock ticks down.
